Minnesota West's women's volleyball team dropped to 12-2 in MCAC Southern Division play on Saturday when they were defeated at home by Century College 3-1. Game scores were 25-17, 14-25, 25-13, 25-16.

Century College, ranked 14th in the most recent NJCAA Division 3 poll, had been swept in the previous meeting between the teams this season in White Bear Lake. The Wood Ducks, however, started strongly in Saturday's match, as they got the opening game win after pulling away from an early 8-8 tie.

The Lady Jays, ranked fifth in the most recent national poll, dominated a large section of game two, scoring 13 consecutive points at one juncture behind the serving of Olivia Locke. Century, though, bounced back and won the final two games convincingly.

On Friday, Minnesota West hosted its Dig Pink Triangular and split its matches. The Lady Jays topped Central Lakes 3-1, then were edged 3-2 by Division 2 Western Iowa Tech. Now 25-9 overall on the year, Minnesota West has two regular season matches remaining, both at home; against Ridgewater on Friday night and Rochester on Saturday afternoon.
