Engineering public hearings, East Flower Lane on council agenda
Monday's Worthington City Council meeting is slated to begin with a trio of public hearings pertaining to city engineering projects.
First on the agenda will be a public hearing on the proposed assessment for East Ninth Avenue water main and sanitary sewer extension work. That will be followed by public hearings on the proposed assessment for Murray Avenue street improvement and Third and Fourth Avenue street improvement, respectively.
In another engineering matter, council members will consider a resolution ordering the preparation of a report on the construction of East Flower Lane from the existing East Flower Lane constructed in 2026 to First Avenue Southwest. The proposed improvements include water main, sanitary sewer main, and stormwater main extension, base construction, permanent surfacing, curb and gutter, and driveways. The improvement is proposed to be assessed to the abutting property owners.
In a community development item, an approval of a joint resolution for annexation will be considered.
The city recently acquired a parcel of land located at 26460 Flower Lane for a roadway extension. In order to proceed with planned improvements, this land must be annexed.
In addition to this parcel, annexation of a portion of another parcel lying north of U.S. 59/Minnesota 60 and a portion of the right-of-way of U.S./Minnesota 60 is proposed to be annexed as well.
