The Worthington Regional Health Care Foundation recently awarded a $10,000 grant to Early Risers Kiwanis of Worthington.
The club will use the grant toward the all-inclusive fishing dock it plans for Chautauqua Park. The $10,000 grant represents about one-fourth of the project's total cost of $43,000.
It's anticipated that the dock, which is being manufactured by a Spirit Lake company, will be completed and installed in the summer. It will have two benches and four fishing stations.
People and organizations who have made $1,000 contributions toward the dock will be recognized on the fishing pier. Previously, the Worthington Regional Health Care Foundation awarded a grant to Early Risers Kiwanis to support the all-inclusive playground now in Chautauqua Park.
