Council members approve committee assignments

The Worthington City Council on Monday night approved 2023 committee assignments for themselves as well as new mayor Rick von Holdt, who led his first meeting in his new post.


Councilman Chad Cummings will serve on the Comprehensive Plan Subcommittee, Convention & Visitors Bureau Financial, Economic Development Subcommittee, Housing Development Subcommittee, Lake Improvement Committee, Okabena-Ocheda-Bella Clean Water, Park and Recreation Board, Prairie Justice Center-City/County Joint Building and Sales Tax-Aquatics Center.


Councilwoman Amy Ernst will serve on the Cable 3 Joint Powers Board, Compensation Committee, Cross Cultural Advisory Committee. IT Support, Joint Jurisdictional Planning Commission, Liquor and Gambling Commitee, Personnel Sub Committee and the Water and Light Commission.


Commissioner Larry Janssen will serve on the committee for the Center for Active Living, Employee Advisory Committee. Heron Lake Watershed Restoration Association, Joint Jurisdictional Planning Commission, Lake Improvement Committee, NEON, Okabena-Ocehda-Bella Clean Water, Public Arts Commission, Salex Tax-Ice Arena and Worthington Rediscovered Committee.


Councilman Chris Kielblock will serve on the Airport Advisory Board, Compensation Committee, Comprehensive Plan Subcommittee, NEON, Personal Subcommittee, Planning Commission, Revolving Loan Fund, Transit Board-Joint Powers, Traffic and Safety Committee and Worthington Rediscovered Committee.


Councilwoman Alaina Kolpin will serve on the committee for City/County/School, Economic Development Subcommittee, Housing Development Committee, Housing and Redevelopment Authority, Memorial Auditorium Advisory Board, Prairie Justice Center - City/County Joint Building, Sales Tax-Aquatics Center, Transit Board-Joint Powers and YMCA.


Von Holdt will serve on the committee for Citty/County/School, Economic Development Subcommittee, EO Olson Trust Fund Board, Nominating Committee, Salex Tax-Ice Arena, Southwest Mayors Advisory Council and Southwest Regional Development Commission.
