Community blood drive in Adrian is Sept. 12

An Adrian community blood drive will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 3 to 5 p.m. Sept. 12 at the Adrian Ambulance Building.

Community Blood Bank Executive Director Ken Veersteg noted that there has been a sharp decline in overall donations due to the newest strain of COVID, which has reduced the number of donors that are eligible to give. He says local volunteers are the only way to improve the overall blood supply for local patients.

Donors can log onto www.cbblifeblood.org and select “events”, Sept. 12 and Adrian EMS to schedule an appointment or call (605) 331-3222. All who donate will receive a $10 Subway gift card.

Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with a signed parent consent form found at www.cbblifeblood.org), weigh 110 pounds or more and be in good general health. Donors exhibiting cold or flu symptoms are unable to donate. A valid identification is required at the time of registration.
