Community Blood Bank drive slated for Nov. 5 in Worthington

Sanford Worthington Medical Center will host a critical needs blood drive on Thursday, Nov.  5, and is calling on community members to roll up their sleeves for local patients. Donations will be collected from 8 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 4:30 p.m., with registration located inside the main hospital lobby.

As a thank-you, every donor will receive a $20 Hy-Vee gift card. To schedule a donation, donors can visit Community Blood Bank’s website at ww.cbblifeblood.org, select “Donate Now,” “Blood Drive Calendar,” and choose Nov. 5th or call Community Blood Bank at (605) 331-3222.

Donors should bring a photo ID, eat a healthy meal, and drink plenty of water beforehand. Donors must be at least 16 years old, weigh 110 pounds or more and be in good general health.

Community Blood Bank is jointly owned by Sanford and Avera Health, providing blood to 43 local area hospitals including Sanford Worthington Medical Center.
