Chuck Foreman to be featured King Turkey Day speaker

Former Minnesota Vikings star Chuck Foreman will be this year's featured speaker at King Turkey Day.


Foreman was selected by the Vikings as the 12th overall pick in the 1973 NFL Draft and went on to play seven seasons for the Vikings and one season for the New England Patriots. The NFL Rookie of the Year in 1973 ran for 5,879 yards in his Vikings career, scored 52 career rushing touchdowns and had a team-record 22 TDs in 1975. Foreman was an integral part of the Vikings' appearances in three Super Bowls and was inducted into the team's Ring of Honor in 2007.


Foreman will speak on 10th Street beginning at 12:30 p.m. on King Turkey Day, Saturday, Sept. 17 along 10th Street. The former racer chase will follow at 1 p.m. in recognition of 50 years of turkey racing between Worthington and Cuero, Texas, and the Great Gobbler Gallop is set for 1:30 p.m. The grand parade is scheduled for 2 p.m.
