Bluejay men's soccer team gets national recognition

The Minnesota West men’s soccer team, which just clinched a conference title last week, is now gaining national recognition.


The Bluejays, who have a record of 8-3-3 this season, moved into the “receiving votes” category in the NJCAA Division III Men’s Soccer poll released Monday. It’s the first time the program has earned such recognition.

Pairings have been announced for the first round of the Iowa high school football postseason. Among the games scheduled to be played Friday are:


8 Player: Harris-Lake Park (5-3) at Remsen St Mary’s (8-0).Class A: Sibley-Ocheyedan (2-6) at Saint Ansgar (8-0)

Class 2A: Okoboji (2-6) at Central Lyon/George-Little Rock (8-0); Southeast Valley (5-3) at Spirit Lake (7-1); Western Christian (6-2) at E-LC (5-3); Clarion-Goldfield-Dows (3-5) at West Lyon (7-1). **


High school volleyball playoff action continues tonight in northwest Iowa. In Class 3A Region 1, Sheldon will play at Western Christian and Spirit Lake will travel to West Lyon in quarterfinal matches. The winners will face each other in the semifinal round.


In Class 3A Region 2, matches tonight include Okoboji at MOC-Floyd Valley. The winner will play either OABCIG or Unity Christian in the semifinals.
