Big South Conference lists All-Conference honorees

Three Worthington Trojans have been chosen for the Big South Conference Softball All-Conference Team.

 

Among the selections from the conference's big schools were WHS juniors Hannah McNab and Bailey Ponto and senior Maddie Petersen. Marshall also had three of its players picked: Morgan Bjella, Brielle Reiss and Halla Jo Casavan. Additionally, Tigers players Jaina Dekker and Naya Grahn were honorable mention choices. Fairmont, meanwhile, had Brylee Miller, Auden Anderson and Gabby Leiding chosen as all-conference; Makayla Lowry was honorable mention.

 

Five members of the Luverne Cardinals made the all-conference small schools first team --Toni Serie, Ella Reisdorfer, Payton Behr, Gracie Nath and Belle Smidt – while Anika Boll was honorable mention. Four Windom players – Anja Nielsen, Leah Hauge, Tristyn Maras and Charlee Husks – were all-conference, and Kayden Paulson was recognized as honorable mention. Chosen as all-conference from Jackson County Central were Bailey Finck. Maddy Wachal and Hadley Wachal, with Miley VanDeVere and Sawyer Flatgard both honorable mention. Kaysa Douty and Mariah Moeller of Pipestone Area were all-conference; the Arrows' Jadyn Kor and Brilee Rieck were honorable mentions.

For the Big South Conference Boys Golf Team, Marshall's Jayden Manthei, Luke Ehlers and Drew Parsons were among those earning spots. Luverne representatives are Henry Hartquist and Owen Sudenga. Max Taubert and of Pipestone and Tavin Miller of Jackson County Central also made the team. No Worthington Trojan players earned spots.

Two Worthington Trojans players have earned spots on the Big South Conference Girls Golf All-Conference Team. On the team are just-graduated senior Madison Beckmann as well as junior Claire Mahlberg.

 

Fairmont High School head three girls qualify for the team – Brynn Gustafson, Leslie Zarling and Katherine Zelaya. Marshall had two earn all-conference honors, Dayton Webskowski and Rylee Jacobson. Among the others earning spots on the team were Ada Lund of Windom and Liesli Smith of Luverne.

The Big South Conference Boys Tennis team includes Worthington Trojan just-graduated senior Ian Barber on its West Division team and fellow Class of 2024 graduate Evan Hansberger as an honorable mention pick. Among the other honorable mention players for the west division is Lucas Zupp of Pipestone.

 

For the East Division team, Anthony Stegge and Tyler Slama of Fairmont each received honorable mention nods.
