Nobles Cooperative Electric announces that Isabel Thier, a junior at Adrian High School, has been selected as the 2023 Youth Tour Contest winner.
Thier will represent Nobles Cooperative Electric at the 2023 Rural Electric Youth Tour in Washington, D.C., June 13-18. She is the daughter of Dave and Ann of Rushmore. She will be representing Nobles Cooperative Electric among 1,900 high school students from cooperatives throughout the country.
The scholarship winner selected was Jocelyn Horn, who attends Adrian High School as a junior. She won a $500 scholarship. Jocelyn is the daughter of Dan and Monica of Adrian.
Maggie Lenz, a freshman who attends Ellsworth High School, received $100. She is the daughter of Suzanne and Jereme of Ellsworth.
The Youth Tour is open to all high school freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors that live or go to school in Nobles Cooperative Electric's service area. The tour includes meetings with national leaders, as well as visiting all the major sights. Students also meet and discuss their views and interests with students from other states while learning about government, history, careers in public service and electric cooperatives.
