Adrian Ambulance Building to be site of Feb. 16 blood drive

A Community Blood Bank blood drive is scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 3 to 5 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 16 at the Adrian Ambulance Building.

Said Community Blood Bank Executive Director Ken Versteeg in a press release: “The demand for blood donations remains critically high at Community Blood Bank. A particularly intense cold and flu season has prevented many regular donors from giving blood, creating shortages that make it difficult to meet hospital needs. Blood requirements are constantly shifting and unpredictable, and maintaining a stable supply requires community volunteers to step forward with this life-saving gift."

To schedule an appointment, donors may visit www.cbblifeblood.org, select “donate now,” “blood drive calendar,” choose February 16th and “Adrian Ambulance Building” or call Community Blood Bank at (605) 331-3222. All blood donors will receive a $20 Kwik Trip gift card as a token of appreciation. This blood drive is sponsored in part by Sanford Health Adrian Medical Clinic.

Eligible donors must be at least 17 years old (or 16 with signed parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in good general health. Donors should eat a meal and drink plenty of fluids before their appointment and bring a valid ID. For additional information, visit www.cbblifeblood.org.
