2025 KTD Race Team announced

Worthington's King Turkey Day race team is ready to do battle for Traveling Turkey Trophy of Tumultuous Triumph.


The KTD Borad of Directors announced this year's race team, which includes: Jay Jensen, coach; Holly Sieve, captain; Juan Palma, handler; and Josh Noble, handler.


The 2025 Great Gobbler Gallop is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 13th. Paycheck and Ruby Begonia have been competing in the Great Gobbler Gallop since 1973. Paycheck represents Worthington, and as we all know, nothing goes faster than a Paycheck. Ruby Begonia and her team hail from Cuero, Texas. 


The winning city receives the three-foot-tall walnut and gold “Traveling Turkey Trophy of Tumultuous Triumph.” To the loser goes the “Circulating Consolation Cup of Consummate Commiseration." 


King Turkey Day has been celebrated annually in Worthington since 1939.
