Youth basketball camp set at Minnesota West

Minnesota West Community and Technical College will host a basketball skills camp for third- through 12th-graders on four consecutive Sunday nights starting on Oct. 30 and ending on Nov. 20.


Camp instructors are Moz Hayenga, head women’s basketball coach at Minnesota West; Ron Vorwald, a hall of fame high school school boys basketball coach; Clint Meyer, Worthington High School boys basketball coach and the all-time leading scorer at WHS; and Avery Van Roekel, an AAU head coach and assistant coach at Minnesota West. Other coaches from the area are also expected to help at the camp.


Third- through sixth-graders will have camp from 6 to 7 p.m. on Sunday nights, and seventh- through 12th graders will go from 7:15 to 8:15 p.m. Players are encouraged to attend and learn the skills to improve their games from sone of the region’s top coaches. Three-on-three skills will be incorporated into the camp this year.

Worthington YMCA JO Volleyball registration is now underway through Nov. 1.


There are 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U teams.
