WPD makes arrest after 45-minute stand-off

The Worthington Police Department Emergency Response Unit (ERU) executed an arrest warrant and subsequent search warrant on Friday.


The activity came in the 1100 block of Clary Street. After a 45-minute stand-off, Tevin Saysirisanh exited the residence and was taken into custody without further incident.


The use of an armored vehicle provided by the High-Risk Entry and Arrest Team (H.E.A.T) was utilized to resolve the high-risk arrest peacefully. Saysirisanh was wanted for felony third-degree assault. He was booked into the Nobles County Jail pending his next court appearance.


The Nobles County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota State Patrol, and Sanford Ambulance assisted at the scene.
