The Worthington Community Football Club saw action in four matches in Target USA Cup competition this past weekend in Blaine. The event featured talent from Illinois, North Dakota and South Dakota, as well as Worthington.
In its opening match on Friday, Prince Lebbi scored the lone goal as Worthington edged the GFC Royals from Illinois, 1-0. Later Friday, the Toros topped the North Dakota Magic 2-1 as Alan Flores and Lebbi had goals.
On Saturday, Worthington played to a 1-1 tie with Tempo Thunderbolts of South Dakota. Dalen Gonzalez scored for the Toros, who then fell 4-0 in a playoff game against the Wisconsin Rapids Kickers.
