Worthington man receives SMAC Artist Growth grant

A Worthington man is one of eight individuals recently awarded a Southwest Minnesota Arts Council Artist Growth grant. These grants provide up to $4,000 to artists at any career stage for projects that will advance their skills and artistic career.

Virgilio Cerda of Worthington has been awarded $4,000 for producing an approximately 25–to-30-minute documentary exploring the cultural diversity of Worthington. Through interviews and visual documentation of everyday life, he will explore how Worthington became the community it is today and what it means to call this place home.
