Worthington cross-country teams run at Mankato East

he Worthington High School boys and girls cross country teams competed Wednesday at the Mankato East Invitational meet. The WHS boys placed ninth as a team, and the Trojan girls were 11th.


Bloomington Jefferson and Marshall tied for first place at 51 total points in the boys team competition. For Worthington, Fanuel Wolday was the highest finisher, taking seventh. Among those also running for the Trojans were: Austin Kinser, 29th; Isaac Kinser, 72nd; and Addis Tiruneh, Isaiah Bates, Andrew Olague and Holden Meyer, who placed in order 74th through 77th.


Waconia easily won the girls team competition with 51 points. Madison Sieve was first across for the Trojans in 51st place. Emily Dahlquist was 63rd, Kenadie Thiner 73rd and Annabelle Hardwood 77th.

Minnesota West's football team is in the midst of a few days off now that the Bluejays have wrapped up their regular season.


Minnesota West improved to 7-0 on Monday night with a 35-19 win in Orange City over the Dordt University JV. The Bluejays will now be idle on Saturday and await their seeding for the playoffs, which get underway the following week.


Quarterback Elijah Alexander's 1,370 total passing yards ranks second in the nation,

as do his 14 passing TDs. The Bluejays are ranked second nationally.
