Work of Worthington's Henkels to be shown at SMAC Gallery

A gallery exhibit and two artist receptions featuring the artwork of Kelly Henkels of Worthington have been scheduled by the Southwest Minnesota Arts Council Gallery.

Henkels' exhibit, titled "Scattered Presence," will be able to be seen in-person or virtually from Nov. 6 through Dec. 19. An in-person reception is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 6, while a virtual artist talk is set for 5:30 p.m. Dec. 4.  

Henkels writes in promotional material for the exhibit that she enjoys a variety of different types of art ranging from printmaking to painting and all the way to sewing. She adds that she loves making interesting unconventional art as well as the freedom art gives her and being able to follow the creative process with whatever comes to her mind, without overthinking it. 

The SMAC Gallery is located at 509 W. Main St., Marshall. Regular office hours are 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
