Windom crash on Monday evening results in injuries to two people

Two people were injured in a Monday evening crash in Windom.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2008 Ford Escape operated by Cierra Angel Amanda Hjermstad, 25, of Windom, was westbound on 10th Street approaching U.S. 71 and a 2025 Freightliner semi operated by Bernard Albert Thissen, 72, of Mahtomedi was southbound on U.S. 71 when they collided in the intersection. The crash was reported at 10:30 p.m. Monday.
Hjermstad, along with a 1-year-old female passenger, were taken to Windom Area Health with non-life-threatening injuries. Thissen was uninjured.
The Cottonwood County Sheriff's Office and Windom Police Department, Fire Department and Ambulance assisted at the scene.
