WHS speech team takes part in Mankato East meet

The Worthington Trojans speech team competed in its largest meet of the season this past weekend at the Mankato East Quacktacular.

Leading WHS was team captain Angela Dailey, who placed fourth in varsity discussion. In extemporaneous speaking, Worthington had two novice finalists, as Annika Kinser placed third and Adalyn Schaffer was sixth. Eighth-graders Braddock Marquardt (in humorous) and Benjamin Potts (in informative) placed fifth and sixth, respectively, as novices. 

MacKenzie Platt placed fifth in next in finals for poetry, and Jessica Garcia Morales placed sixth in novice finals for prose for the Trojans. The storytelling champion in novice finals was Felicity Steinle.

The Worthington High School speech team will next compete at Redwood Valley High School on Saturday.
