The Worthington Trojans boys soccer team posted yet another shutout Thursday night as they won at Waseca 4-0.
WHS, now 7-2 this fall, won its fourth straight match via shutout. Eiby Martinez scored a pair of goals in the triumph, while Danny Banegas and Christian Munoz had one apiece.
Coach Juan Flores remarked that it was a good game for his squad, though there are still things it can work on. He added that the team has three tough matches next week — at home against New Ulm on Tuesday, at Marshall on Thursday and at Willmar Saturday — but thinks his players will be up for the challenge.

In girls volleyball, visiting Belle Plaine — ranked fifth in the state in Class 3A — defeated Worthington 3-0. Game scores were 25-22, 25-20, 25-18.
The Trojans trailed 9-3 in game one before rallying and taking leads of two points on at least two occasions. Belle Plaine, though, ended up holding off WHS, then did so again in a back-and-forth second game. The Trojans led 19-18 in that game, but a point originally awarded to Worthington was reversed and made the score 19-19 instead of 20-18, and the Tigers went on to victory from there. Belle Plaine then pulled away in the latter stages of the third game to complete the sweep.
For the Trojans, now 2-3, Alaina Feit had nine kills and Mara Thier six. Thier also had a team-high nine digs and was 17-for-17 serving. Kamryn Olson had eight digs; Natya Khamphanh passed for 26 set assists.
