The Worthington Community Football Club United Premier Soccer League Premier Division and First Division teams both had home matches on Saturday.
In the First Division match, the Worthington Team known commonly as Los Dos rallied to post a 3-2 victory over the Bateaux Football Club of Eau Claire, Wis. Los Dos trailed by a score of 2-0 at halftime, but rallied thanks to two goals from Jonathan Banegas and a goal on a free kick from Edgar Carrillo. Los Dos now has a record of 2-1 this season.
In the Premier Division match, Los Toros trailed 1-0 at the midway point and ended up falling 3-0 to the Minneapolis City Football Club. Los Toros are now 2-3-1 in their inaugural season.

Several Worthington High School student-athletes took part in sectional tennis tournament play Saturday in St. Peter. Competing in singles action were Ian Barber and Ezra Bonnett, while taking part in doubles were the tandems of Oziel Briones and Victory Bu and Lance Gordon and Dylan Dykstra.
Barber, who was a fifth seed in singles play, won his opening-round match in the single-elimination event by scores of 7-5 6-3. The other Trojans were defeated in the opening round.
In his next match, Barber was defeated 6-3 6-1 to end his tournament run.

The Worthington Cubs moved to 3-2 on the season Sunday, cruising to a 16-2 seven-inning win over the Ruthton Royals.
Ethan Duffy and Jake Brandner each had multiple hits in the contest for Worthington and Will Brandner pitched a complete game, striking out nine batters. The Cubs have a home matchup at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday against Fox Lake.
In other amateur baseball play Sunday, it was: Windom 6, Jackson 0; Fox Lake 12, Heron Lake 0; Mountain Lake 6, Fox Lake 2; and Jackson 5, Lakefield 1.
