UPDATED: WAYBA receiving matching grant from Worthington Regional Health Care Foundation

Updated: Aug 25, 2022

The Worthington Area Youth Baseball Association has secured a grant from the Worthington Regional Health Care Foundation for $15,000 to go toward its baseball field renovation project.

It will be a matching grant, meaning that every dollar donated by WAYBA families, alumni, businesses or community members in general will be matched by the foundation up to $15,000.

An announcement of the grant by WAYBA states that in order to qualify for this match, checks MUST be written to Worthington Regional Health Care Foundation. People cannot donate on the WAYBA website if they want to collect this match.

Other recent financial contributions to the foundation are a $50,000 donation from First State Bank Southwest and a $15,000 matching grant from the Astrup Family Foundation. The fundraising foal for the field renovation project is $150,000, and $85,000 has been contributed.

Contact Jason Turner at (507) 360-5261 or any other WAYBA board member with questions or to handle donations.
