Updates following Friday action at state wrestling tourney

9:15 P.M.: Here's an update following Friday evening competition at the Minnesota State High School Wrestling Tournament. Action resumes — and concludes — on Saturday.


Worthington High School:


Dominic Larson (107) won by a 12-3 major decision in wrestlebacks over Finn Obermoller of United Clay Becker. He will next face Anthony Chilton of Detroit Lakes on Saturday.


Jackson County Central:


Matthias Liepold (127) lost an 7-4 decision to Wyatt Hilarski of Holdingford in the semifinals. He'll next compete in wrestlebacks on Saturday.


Isaac Rodriguez (139) won a 5-4 decision over Jackson Peasley of Pelican Rapids in the semifinals. He'll wrestle Gage Bjerga of Staples-Motley on Saturday for a state title.


Kyler Thier (145) lost a 7-1 decision to Trey Gunderson of Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg in the semifinals. He'll next compete in wrestlebacks on Saturday.


Dallas Gossen (152) won an 11-10 decision over Gavyn Hlucny of Crookston in the semifinals. He'll wrestle Masyn Patrick of Holdingford on Saturday for a state title.


For Adrian Area:


Jackson Jenniges (160) won a 4-1 decision over Hunter Garness of Triton in wrestlebacks and will next face Mason Jayers of Minneota on Saturday.


Jesse Bullerman (189) lost a 7-3 decision to Adrian Young of Benson in wrestlebacks.


Travis Weiss (133) won a 4-0 decision over Timmy Nagel of Blue Earth Area in wrestlebacks. He will next face Colton Noble of Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg on Saturday.


Caleb Wolf (172) was defeated in a 16-4 major decision by Riley Reese of Staples-Motley in wrestlebacks.


In girls wrestling, Kataniya Hernandez-Nelson (148) lost by technical fall at 15-0 to Adrienne Lewis of St. Michael Albertville in wrestlebacks.


For Fulda/Murray County Central:


Colby Kesterloot (285) lost a 10-3 decision to Grady Roberts of New York Mills in wrestlebacks.


Kaston Clarke (121) won a 10-2 decision over Bentley Miller of Westfield in wrestlebacks. He'll next face Jackson Dietman of Royalton-Upsala on Saturday.


Quintin Lewis (160) lost a 9-7 decision to Mason Jayers of Minneota in wrestlebacks.

Worthington High School's Dominic Larson will next compete in wrestlebacks later today at 107 pounds against Finn Obermoller of United Clay Becker. He lost his Friday morning match to Grayson Schroeder of Zumbrota-Mazeppa via technical fall.


Multiple Jackson County Central student-athletes competed Friday morning.


Matthias Liepold won an 7-4 decision at 127 pounds over Nathaniel Veske of Central Public Schools and will next meet Wyatt Hilarski of Holdingford in the semifinals.


Isaac Rodriguez won a 16-6 major decision at 139 over Jackson Peasley of Pelican Rapids and will next face Adam DeVlaeminck of Minneota in the semfinals.


Kyler Thier won a 1-0 decision at 145 over Waylon Thieke of LeSueur-Henderson and will next meet Trey Gunderson of Kirkhoven-Murdock Sundburg in the semifinals.

Payton Sorbel lost an 8-1 decision to Benjamin Schmid of Mille Lacs in wrestlebacks at 107.


Carson Kolander lost a 7-4 decision to Trenton Huber of WEM-JWP in wrestlebacks at 189.

Jesse Bullerman lost a 5-4 decision at 189 to Jake Leners of Royalton-Upsala and will next face Adrian Young of Benson in wrestlebacks.


Travis Weiss won via technical fall at 133 by Alex Ortiz of Triton in wrestlebacks at 133 and will next wrestle Timmy Nagel of Blue Earth Area.


Charger Erlandson lost by fall at 152 to Gunner Hennessy of Border-West in wrestlebacks.


Caleb Wolf won a 2-1 decision at 172 over Mason Johnson of LeSueur-Henderson in wrestlebacks and will next face Riley Reese of Staples-Motley.


Garrett Penning lost an 8-3 decision at 285 to Grady Roberts of New York Mills in wrestlebacks.


In girls wrestling, Kataniya Hernandez-Nelson -- who had won her Thursday match by major decision -- lost by fall to Aubrey Nogotzke of Stillwater and will next face Adrienne Lewis of St. Michael Albertville in wrestlebacks.


For Fulda/Murray County Central:


Colby Kesterloot, who had a bye at 285 pounds Thursday, lost via technical fall to Jack Carlson of Goodhue and next faces Grady Roberts of New York Mills in wrestlebacks.


Kaston Clarke won by fall at 121 over Domenek Williams of LeSeuer-Henderson in wrestlebacks and next meets Bentley Miller of Westfield.


Quintin Lewis won a 9-2 decision at 160 over Creed Koll of United North Central in wrestlebacks and next meets Mason Jayers of Minneota.

Kaston Clarke is scheduled to face Domenek Williams of LeSeuer-Henderson in wrestlebacks.
