Two hurt in Thursday night Murray County crash involving alcohol

Two people were injured in a late Thursday evening crash in Murray County.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2011 Ford F150 operated by Carter Michael Grupp, 27, of Slayton, was northbound on Minnesota 91 in snow/ice conditions when it collided with a 2009 Mazda 6 operated by Julia Yamileth Castillo, 42, of an unknown city, that was traveling southbound. The crash took place at 11:13 p.m. Thursday at milepost 33 in Murray County's Fenton Township.

The State Patrol reported that Grupp had been consuming alcohol prior to the crash. He was uninjured. Both Castillo as well as her passenger, Blake Scott Martinez-Costillo, 18, of Adrian, were transported to Murray County Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Murray County Sheriff's Office and Ambulance, along with Chandler Fire and Rescue, assisted at the scene.
