Two hurt in Friday crash between motor vehicle, semi

Two individuals were transported to an area hospital following a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon.


According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2016 Chevrolet Trax operated by Mckinley Noelle Jespersen, 20, of Jamestown, N.D., was northbound on Minnesota 86 and a 2006 Freightliner semi operated by Jeremiah Dennis Daberkow, 46, of Lakefield was eastbound on 860th Street. The vehicles collided in the intersection. The crash was reported at 2:01 p.m.


Both Jespersen and Daberkow were transported to Windom Area Health with non-life-threatening injuries. The Jackson County Sheriff's Office, Lakefield Police and Fire Departments, and the Lakefield and Windom Ambulance all assisted at the scene.

A Chandler woman was injured after the vehicle she was riding in collided with a tractor on Friday in Lyon County.


According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2008 Ford Explorer operated by Gonzales Loani Gomez, 19, of Chandler, was southbound on Minnesota 91, and a 2025 Case IH 555 Track Tractor operated by Drew Austin Chandler, 18, of Russell, was attempting to turn left on to 140th Street when the vehicles collided. The crash was reported at 7:57 p.m. Friday.


A passenger in the Ford, Izaguirre Glenda Patricia Gonzalez, 41, of Chandler, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Avera Tyler Hospital. Another passenger, a 12-year-old boy, also from Chandler, was unhurt. The tractor driver was also uninjured.


The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, as well as the Balaton Fire Department and Ambulance, assisted at the scene.
