Two men died Monday afternoon as a result of a two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon in Jackson County.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash at approximately 1:30 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Jackson County 29 and Jackson County 34. A 2019 Peterbilt semi and bulk trailer operated by Landon Bell, 23, of Bryant, South Dakota was traveling northbound on Jackson County 29, and a 2013 Dodge Ram 2500 operated by Mitchell Jarmer, 24, of Westbrook was eastbound on Jackson County 34. The semi failed to yield at a stop sign, and the two vehicles collided in the intersection.
Jarmer and a passenger, Jacob Peterson, 26, of Dovry, were both pronounced dead at the scene. Bell was not injured.
The Alpha Fire Department and First Responders, the Jackson Ambulance, the Jackson Fire Department and the Minnesota State Patrol assisted at the scene.
