Trojans win 2nd gymnastics meet of year as Lazzu again takes all-around

The Worthington Trojans gymnastics team won for the second time in two dual meets on Tuesday night, defeating host Luverne 138.75 to 131.4.
Isabella Lazzu of the Trojans was the all-around champion once again, as she finished the meet with a combined score of 34.95 points despite not winning any of the individual events outright. Lucy Thier had 34.0 for Worthington for second place, and Luverne's Kianna Winter was third at 33.075.
On the floor, Thier came out on top with a score of 9.125. Two other Trojans finished directly behind her, as Jada Milbrath took second with an 8.9 and Lazzu third at 8.875.
Worthington's Marley Phomsatry placed first in the meet's vault competition with a 9.025. Lazzu was second at 8.825, and the Trojans' Brooklyn Dykstra was third at 8.8.
On the bars, WHS gymnasts once again placed 1-2-3 as Milbrath won at 8.775, Thier second at 8.6 and Lazzu third at 8.2. On the beam, Lazzu tied for first with the Cardinals' Winter at 9.05, while Dykstra was third at 9.025.
The Trojans will compete in another meet Friday at St. Peter.
