Trojans boys soccer to host Hutchinson on Tuesday night

The Worthington Trojans boys soccer team, which wrapped up its regular season last week with a 14-2 record while winning its fourth consecutive Big South Conference title, will host its quarterfinal Section 2AA match at 6 p.m. Tuesday when it takes on Hutchinson-Glencoe Silver Lake.

The Trojans are currently ranked seventh in the latest state AA poll. Should they win Tuesday, they’ll host the winner of Mound Westonka and Mankato West in a Thursday night semifinal match. WHS is seeking its third straight trip to the state tournament.

On the girls side, the Trojans – who ended their regular season with a 2-14 record following a 5-1 loss at Albert Lea on Saturday – will play their first-round sectional game at 6 p.m. Tuesday in St. Peter. The winner will take on either Mankato West or Marshall.
