The Worthington Community Football Club Toros will be back in action in UPSL play Thursday when they travel to St. Cloud for their fourth soccer match of the season, as they’ll take on the Granite City FC.
The Toros went into last week’s match with a 2-0 record, but the Superior City FC was too much at Trojan Field and defeated the home squad 6-0. The St. Croix Soccer Club and Superior FC now find themselves tied atop the Midwest West Division, with the Toros in a tie with Austin Villa for third.
After Thursday’s match, the Worthington Community Football Club will play once again just two days later when it hosts FC Minneapolis at 5 p.m. Saturday at Trojan Field.

The Worthington Cubs amateur baseball team has opened its season with a 0-2 record.
The Cubs’ first game of the year came this past Friday night against the Renner, S.D., Rangers, and Worthington was defeated 16-10. Triston Sauerbrei drove in three runs fir the Cubs and hit a triple, and Logan Huisman contributed three hits as well as an RBI.
In a Sunday game at Luverne against the Redbirds, Worthington was beaten 10-0. Getting single hits each for the Cubs were Sauerbrei, Huisman, Tucker Brandner and Nathan VanOrman.
Worthington will play its home opener at 2 p.m. Sunday against the Hadley Buttermakers.
