Tigers top Trojans in girls hockey, 7-1, after early deficit

The Worthington Trojans scored first, but the visiting Marshall Tigers took over from there and went on to earn 7-1 girls hockey triumph Thursday night at the Worthington Ice Arena.
Breeta Johnson put WHS up 1-0 with an unassisted goal 7:17 into the first period, but Marshall answered with three before the period ended and four more in the second. Brooklyn Mauch scored four of those goals for the Tigers, who outshot the Trojans 43-9.
Worthington, now 0-3, will host Princeton at 1 p.m. Saturday to begin a girls-boys doubleheader.
