Tessa Dierks has been named the new assistant principal at Worthington Middle School.
Dierks is a graduate of Murray County Central High School who earned a degree in K-12 education from Augustana University in 2004. She later earned a master’s degree in education from Augustana University in 2017 and her education specialist degree from Minnesota State University Moorhead this month.
She began her education career by working as a paraprofessional at Murray County Central in 2004 and 2005 before teaching art classes for Lynd Public Schools from 2005 to 2010 and then art classes at Worthington High School from 2010 to 2014. She has been an instructional coach for District 518 in its Teaching & Learning Department since 2014.
Dierks will replace Casey Hertz, who is leaving the WMS assistant principal role to become the seventh through 12th grade principal in the Sibley-Ocheyedan School District.
