Sunday crash in Cottonwood County claims two lives

Two people died Sunday as the result of a crash in Cottonwood County.


According to a press release from the Cottonwood County Sheriff's Office, county dispatch received a report at approximately 5:46 p.m. Sunday of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of 450th Avenue and Cottonwood County 11 in rural Sanborn.

 

It was determined upon arrival that a 2014 Chevy Equinox was westbound on Cottonwood County 11 and a 2007 Chevy Silverado was northbound on 450th Avenue. The two vehicles collided in the intersection.


The driver and the passenger of the Equinox were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Silverado sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Names were not being immediately released due to family notification.

 

The Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Minnesota State Patrol, Sanborn Fire Department, Sanborn First Responders, Lamberton Ambulance and the Westbrook Ambulance.
