The Spirit Lake Police Department is investigating a report of a female who had been found dead outside of the Keelson Harbour assisted living facility.
Police were called to the building on Dec. 9 upon the finding of the woman. The initial investigation into the incident has revealed that an elderly female resident of the facility had made her way outside during the evening hours.
The investigation by the Spirit Lake Police Department as well as the State Office of Inspection and Appeals is continuing. The death is believed to be unintentional.
