A high-speed pursuit early Tuesday resulted in the arrest of a Spirit Lake man on multiple charges.
According to a press release from the Spirit Lake Police Department, officers attempted a traffic stop on a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado at around midnight in the 1500 block of Iowa 9 and U.S. 71. The vehicle then took off again, turned southbound on Jackson Avenue and then went east on 24th Street before coming to a stop at the intersection with Hill Avenue, where officers boxed it in.
The driver, identified as Gabriel Hall of Spirit Lake, was arrested and booked into jail on charges of operating under the influence-second offense; eluding; interference with official acts; assault on persons in certain occupations-bodily injury; speeding; four counts of failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right-of-way; and fraudulent use of registration.
Hall was being held in the Dickinson County Jail on an $11,000 bond.
