Special city council is scheduled for 4 p.m. Wednesday

The Worthington City Council will host a special meeting at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the City Hall's council chambers.

The lone item on the agenda for the meeting is a presentation by representatives of Geronimo Power on its proposed Nobles County Data Center Project. Geronimo Power develops dedicated energy production projects that power data centers. The site is readied for acquisition by a data center operator once the energy projects are underway.

The meeting's agenda notes that data centers are large warehouse facilities that hold servers and other computer systems that power many of the online services used personally and commercially every day.
