SMAC presents awards to Worthington organization, 2 others

The Southwestern Minnesota Arts Council recently awarded a total of $46,104 to local organizations, artists and students.

Creative Healing Space of Worthington was among the organizations awarded a SMAC Quick Support for Organizations grant. Creative Healing Space was awarded $2,500 for purchasing and installing a custom exterior sign to increase visibility, establish its new presence in the downtown area, and make its space more accessible and welcoming to the public.

Additionally, two individuals from the area were awarded SMAC Artist Growth grants. Rebby Lee of Fulda received $4,000 for her project of writing and compiling 45 years of songs and stories into a manuscript titled "The Songwriter" with the goal of publishing it as a book. Funds will go toward a computer, editor and website. Also, Tony Moger of Dundee received $4,000 for attending a Songwriters Round Up retreat and recording an album of original songs.
