Ben Byers, a sophomore who competes on the Sibley-Ocheyedan track and field team, is this week’s Radio Works Athlete of the Week. Byers came home from the Iowa State Track and Field meet with four medals. He placed fifth individually and set a new school record in the Class 1A 1600 meters, and he was also part of the 4x800 meter relay team that set a new state meet record and new school record in taking first place in with a time of 7:58.47. Additionally, Byers was a member of the distance medley relay team that took third place and the 4x400 relay team that finished eighth.
