Shorter, two others retire from Worthington FD

The Worthington City Council will need to consider the appointment of a new fire chief following the retirement of Pat Shorter.


Shorter opted to retire on his birthday, which was Monday. The Worthington Fire Department noted that Shorter spent 27 years and seven months as a firefighter. He also spent 12 years as president of the Relief Association and three terms as chief of the Worthington Fire Department.


The Worthington Fire Department has also announced a pair of retirements. Jason Larsen dedicated 15½ years to the department as well as two terms as its fire chief. Nicholas Raymo dedicated 14 years to the Worthington Fire Department.
