The National Weather Service is warning of the possibility of blizzard conditions across a good deal of the region late today into Wednesday.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for a good deal of the region from Tuesday evening through Wednesday morning. Forecasters said a strong winter storm was to begin impacting the area already by late Monday night with rain becoming likely. Rain and even some thunderstorms will be possible today, but by tonight, cold air will wrap into the back side of the storm with a quick transition to snow.
Only a couple of inches of snowfall are expected, but forecasters said it will combine with a very strong wind that could gust to 60 mph at times through Wednesday morning, producing blizzard conditions with very poor visibility in blowing snow.
It's possible that another winter storm could impact the region the latter part of the week.
