Regional graduates awarded scholarships from Federated

Nine area high school graduates have a diploma in one hand and a Federated scholarship in the other.
The Federated Rural Electric Trust recently awarded nine $700 scholarships. One scholarship was awarded in each of the six Federated districts, plus three more to the son/daughter of a Federated member for District At-Large where remaining applicants had a second chance to win. These are the same districts used for the co-op’s director elections.
The recipients from each district are listed:
District 1: Lilly Bass, Heron Lake. She graduates from Heron Lake-Okabena High School. Bass is the daughter of Eric.
District 2: McKade Tewes, Jackson. He graduates from Jackson County Central High School. Tewes is the son of Jeff & Jen.
District 3: Rachel Mohr, Jackson. She graduates from Jackson County Central High School. Mohr is the daughter of Mark & Carrie.
District 4: Ava Thate, Dunnell. She graduates from Martin County West High School. Thate is the daughter Jacob & Rhonda.
District 5: Tyler Kurt, Fairmont. He graduates from Fairmont Area High School. Kurt is the son of Jeff & Ann.
District 6: Madisen Lewis, Granada. She graduates from Granada Huntley East Chain High School. Lewis is the daughter of Blake & Niki.
At-Large District: Lucas Larson, Sherburn. He graduates from Martin County West High School. Larson is the son of Robb & Jamie.
At-Large District: Zachary Kirchner, Dundee. He graduates from Fulda High School. Kirchner is the son of Jacob & Monica.
At-Large District: Erin Doyscher, Round Lake. She graduates from Worthington High School. Doyscher is the daughter of Patrick & Charon.
Thirty-seven students completed Federated’s short scholarship application. This is the 23rd year that students had to apply.
This is the 35th consecutive year that Federated has dedicated money to high school scholarships. This is the 30th year of Operation Round Up scholarships. They total $161,200.
