'Reduce the Rancor' campaign to make two-day visit to Worthington

Minnesota Braver Angels is hitting the road today to visit parts of western and northwestern Minnesota, including Worthington.

"Reduce the Rancor" is a statewide campaign to reduce hostile polarization in public life. Championed by the state chairs of the two main political parties, the campaign is a partnership with Braver Angels and about 25 organizations of elected officials, interested citizens, colleges and universities, civic, religious and business leaders, and other nonprofits.

There are multiple events planned in Worthington in connection with "Reduce the Rancor" on both Friday and Saturday. The first, "Healing Polarization in Faith Communities with Braver Angels, is for pastors and lay church leaders and will be from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Friday at Living Waters Covenant Church. Another Friday morning event is a "Managing Difficult Conversations with Constituents and Colleagues" workshop — for elected officials and administrators who deal with the public — and is set for 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Worthington Fire Hall.

A "Leadership Luncheon on Bridging Divides in Today's World" will be from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Friday at the Worthington Fire Hall. A Braver Angels Open House, intended for anyone interested in or struggling with bridging cultural and political divides, will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday at the JBS Fieldhouse. "Hopes and Concerns for the New Administration," intended for anyone concerned about unhealthy polarization, will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Commons at Minnesota West.

Lastly, "Parenting in a Time of Polarization" is set 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the JBS Fieldhouse. Registration is required for some events. Visit mn.braverangels.org /worthington-2025-tour to learn more,
