Public hearing regarding data centers set for next Wednesday

A public hearing pertaining to the planned Nobles County Powered Data Park is scheduled for Wednesday night.

The hearing is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at the Memorial Auditorium Performing Arts Center, located at 714 13^th St. in Worthington. The purpose is to continue discussion of a proposed text amendment to the Nobles County Planning and Zoning Ordinance to include data centers as a conditional use in the agricultural preservation area of the county. 

Geronimo Power's proposed Nobles County Powered Data Park would be a 400-megawatt project that could scale up to 1,000 megawatts over time. Geronimo would sell the prepared site about six miles northwest of Worthington to a data center operator.
