A Spencer, Iowa woman was injured in a two-vehicle Wednesday afternoon in Jackson County.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu operated by Ashyln Kae Kirchner, 20, of Iona was northbound on Minnesota 86 when it attempted to turn west onto 780th Street. A 2019 Nissan Sentra operated by Victor Frankie Villareal, 20, of San Bernardino, Calif., was traveling southbound, and the vehicles collided near the intersection. The crash took place at 3:57 p.m. Wednesday.
A passenger in the Sentra, Janae Alexandra Vargas, 23, of Spencer, was taken to Lakes Regional Hospital in Spirit Lake with a non-life-threatening injury. Both Kirchner and Villareal were unhurt.
The Lakefield Police Department, Fire Department and Ambulance and the Jackson County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.

A Lakefield woman was injured in another Jackson County crash on Wednesday that involved a motor vehicle and a golf cart.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica operated by Aubrey Mae Erickson, 15, of Lakefield, as well as 2000 Club Car Golf Cart operated by Janice Lynn Bakalyar, 75, of Lakefield were both southbound on Minnesota 86. The vehicles collided near the intersection of Minnesota 86 and Ninth Avenue South in the city of Lakefield. The crash took place at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday.
Bakalyar sustained a non-life-threatening injury and was transported to Lakes Regional Hospital in Spirit Lake. Erickson was unhurt. The Lakefield Police Department and Ambulance assisted at the scene.
