One injured in Wednesday crash on Iowa 86 in Dickinson County

A Florida man was injured Wednesday evening when a vehicle he was driving was involved in a head-on collision with a semi.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, a 2009 Toyota Highlander operated by Robert Spears, 67, of Tampa, Fla., was northbound on Iowa 86 when he crossed the center line and collided with a southbound 2017 Peterbilt semi operated by Clarence Horst, 56, of Ruthven, Iowa. The crash was reported at approximately 6:40 p.m. Wednesday at the Iowa 86/190th Street intersection in Wahpeton.
Spears was taken to Lakes Regional Healthcare with his injuries. The crash resulted in Iowa 86 being shut down in that area for nearly three hours.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, Milford Police Department, Milford Fire Department and the Iowa Department of Transportation assisted at the scene.
