One hurt when car collides with cow in Nobles County

One person was hospitalized Wednesday evening when a vehicle collided with a cow in Nobles County near the Iowa-Minnesota state line.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2015 Ford Explorer operated by Brady Spykerboer, 27, of Rock Rapids was traveling south on Minnesota 91 when it collided with a cow standing in the roadway. The incident was reported at 9:15 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection with Ellsworth Street.

A passenger in the vehicle, Morgan Spykerboer, 28, of Rock Rapids, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken by ambulance to Sanford Health in Rock Rapids. Assisting at the scene were the Nobles County Sheriff’s Office, Adrian Ambulance and Adrian Fire Department.
