One hurt in Murray County school bus-motor vehicle collision

One person was injured in a Thursday afternoon crash in Murray County.


According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2012 Bluebird school bus operated by John Richard Swart, 66, of Slayton was westbound on 171st Street and had stopped for a stop sign. A 2018 Chevy Traverse operated by Heather Mae Dressen, 40, of Tyler was southbound on Minnesota 91. The vehicles collided in the intersection, with the crash taking place at 4 p.m.


Dressen was taken to Murray County Medical Center in Slayton with a non-life-threatening injury. Swart was unhurt. There was no indication that there were any children on the school bus at the time of the crash.


The Murray County Sheriff's Office and Ambulance, as well as the Lake Wilson Fire Department and First Responders, assisted at the scene.
