The Nobles County Auditor-Treasurer’s Office reminds registered voters who have already received their ballots for the Aug. 13th Primary to mail them back as soon as possible to make sure they are received in time to be counted. In addition to mailing in ballots, they can also be returned to the Auditor-Treasure’s Office in person or dropped in the drop box at Door #1 of the Nobles County Government Center. The drop box is monitored by camera 24/7.
In addition to returning ballots, Nobles County residents who are interested in running for an open seat on their local school board, city council or township board, can now file an Affidavit of Candidacy through Aug. 13th. Affidavits of Candidacy need to be filed with the respective school, city or township clerk.
Seventeen of the twenty townships in Nobles County have now moved the election of their township board members from March to November after the ballot question passed at the March Township Election earlier this year. Contact information for township clerks can be found in the Nobles County Officials Guide on the home page of the Nobles County website at www.co.nobles.mn.us.
