No serious injuries reported in crash involving District 518 school bus

A District 518 school bus was involved in a multi-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon in which there were reportedly no life-threatening or significant injuries.

Multiple agencies responded to the crash, which took place at the intersection of U.S. 59/Minnesota 60 and Nobles County 57.  

A statement from District 518 Superintendent Joel Heitkamp was released at 4:24 p.m. Tuesday. It read:

"Dear Families,

I am writing to inform you that one of our school buses was involved in an accident this afternoon after school. 

We are grateful that neither the students nor the driver sustained serious injuries. All parents and guardians of the children on the bus at the time have been contacted directly. 

We remain in contact with the bus company and local authorities and will be conducting a review of the accident to determine the cause.

We wanted to make sure our families were completely informed. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. 

Thank you for your attention to this update."
