NCE awards multiple grants through Operation Round Up program

Nobles Cooperative Electric recently awarded $21,300 in grants to organizations across Nobles and Murray counties through Operation Round Up.

The funds come from members who round up their monthly bills to the nearest dollar. Each project supported helps strengthen the cooperative spirit — from safety and education to youth, senior and community programs.

Funds supporting youth and education initiatives went to Buffalo Ridge Young Marines, Murray County Central FFA Ag Boosters, Murray County 4-H, the MCC Drama Club, MCC Third Grade, City of Ellsworth, City of Lake Wilson and Slayton Public Library.

Funds supporting seniors and family initiatives went to Brewster Senior Dining, Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota-Murray County Meals, Nobles County Toys for Tots and Murray County Food Shelf.

Funds supporting community safety and emergency services initiatives went to Murray County Ambulance, Slayton Fire Department and Wilmont Fire and Rescue. Money preserving community spirit and local heritage was given to Fulda Area Lakes Association, Slayton Chamber of Commerce and Nobles County Historical Services.

For comfort through quilts and kindness, funds were presented to American Lutheran Church, Chandler Area Quilters, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Immanuel Lutheran Church Quilters, Lake Sarah Quilters, Sillerud Quilters and Friends and St. Gabriel’s Quilters.
